"It is becoming clear that carbohydrate moieties, in context such as cell surface receptors, cell adhesion molecules, immunoglobulins, serum proteins, and tumor antigens are carriers of sophisticated biomolecular information."

Overview of Glyconix Corp.

Glyconix is a development stage pharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery of proprietary small molecule therapeutics created through our unique glycosylation and related carbohydrate chemistry, as well as the development of proprietary boron manufacturing and delivery technologies.

Our proprietary glycosylation process increases drug solubility, lowers drug toxicity, and improves tissue-specific drug targeting. Our company's chemistry utilizes benign reaction conditions, provides high yields and is capable of glycosylating a wide array of compounds. (for more details see Technology)

Because the glycosylation process alters the chemical configuration of compounds, our proprietary process offers pharmaceutical companies an opportunity to extend the patent life of drugs about to come off patent while simultaneously providing improved performance of those drugs. We believe that this process has applications in other fields and are in the initial early stages of the development of glycosylated nutrients and pharmaceuticals for aquaculture.

Glyconix also owns patent on manufacturing techniques for boronated compounds and boron delivery systems. Boron compounds are sold to clinical research centers and medical facilities conducting Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), a therapeutic process of destroying tumor cells through the combination of low-level neutron beam exposure and the stable isotope boron-10. BNCT research is an important field of study in the medical community today. (see also BNCT)
